The short version

This is a private, non commercial fan page. It has no accounts, no cookies, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. Nothing is stored that can be traced back to you.

The longer version below explains exactly what happens anyway, because a few things are technically unavoidable and honesty about them is the point of this page.

Hosting

This site is delivered by Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

To send you a page at all, Cloudflare necessarily receives your IP address, the time of the request, the address you asked for and the identifier your browser sends about itself. This is how the web works and happens on every site you visit. Cloudflare handles this data under its own terms and may do so on servers outside the European Union.

Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in running a website that is reachable and protected against attack.

The poll and the visitor counter

Both are limited to one entry per visitor per day. Doing that normally requires recognising people, which would mean keeping something about them. This site avoids that as follows:

  • your IP address is combined with a secret random value and today's date
  • the result is run through a one way function (SHA-256)
  • only the resulting digest is kept, never the address itself

The digest cannot be turned back into an address. It is different every day, and each entry deletes itself automatically after 24 hours. For IPv6 connections only the network part of the address is used, because the rest changes several times a day on many connections anyway.

Kept permanently: the vote tally per game title, and a single visitor number. Neither contains anything about individual people.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in a poll and a counter that cannot be falsified by simply reloading the page.

Storage in your browser

The site keeps three entries in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.

Entry Purpose
erfp.vote which option you picked, so the poll is not offered to you twice
erfp.counts a fallback tally, shown only if the server cannot be reached
erfp.seen the date you were last counted as a visitor

These are not cookies and are not used for advertising or recognition across sites. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings. The site keeps working, it will simply offer you the vote form again.

Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, storage strictly necessary to provide the function you asked for.

What is deliberately absent

  • no cookies
  • no advertising and no analytics
  • no accounts, no contact form, no newsletter
  • no embedded fonts, videos, maps or social media buttons

Everything on this page is served from this domain. No third party learns that you were here.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object.

An honest note on what that means here: this site holds nothing that can be linked to you. There is no account, no cookie and no stored address, so you cannot be looked up even in principle. Art. 11 GDPR covers this situation. In practice there is nothing about you to hand over or to delete. What sits in your browser you can delete yourself at any time, as described above.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
